A seminar was organized at CCHC on March 24, 2025, to observe World TB Day. Dr. Asad Bajwa, Facility Incharge at CCHC, delivered the keynote address, highlighting key aspects of tuberculosis (TB).
The participants were provided with an overview of TB’s causative organism, modes of transmission, and the disease burden in Pakistan. The seminar also covered various types of TB and the symptoms of pulmonary TB, which include a productive cough, weight loss, loss of appetite, low-grade fever, and night sweats.
In addition, attendees were informed about diagnostic tests, such as sputum for AFB, GeneXpert, and chest X-rays, as well as the treatment regimen for TB.
The session also emphasized the critical issue of drug-resistant TB, stressing the importance of adhering to the full course of TB medication and taking the correct dosage.
The seminar concluded with the national anthem and a collective commitment to work together toward making Pakistan TB-free.
Such seminars play a vital role in spreading awareness, empowering communities, and driving collective action toward a healthier future.
