Overview

In observance of World Malaria Day 2025, the medical team at Chiraghdin Community Health Center (CCHC) launched a targeted awareness campaign in the densely populated inner-city areas of Sialkot. The initiative focused on educating residents about malaria — its transmission, early symptoms, prevention methods, and the importance of timely treatment.

Malaria continues to be a significant public health challenge in Pakistan, particularly in underserved urban communities where access to accurate information and preventive tools is limited. To address this, our specialized healthcare team conducted a door-to-door campaign, reaching over 40 homes and shops. Through verbal counseling, residents were informed about:

  • How malaria spreads via infected Anopheles mosquitoes
  • Early signs such as high fever, chills, and fatigue
  • Prevention through mosquito repellents, nets, and eliminating stagnant water
  • The urgency of early diagnosis and treatment

To reinforce these messages, the team distributed Urdu brochures on malaria prevention and provided mosquito-repellent coils to help families take immediate protective action.

This outreach was not only about information-sharing — it was also an effort to build trust within the community and promote long-term behavioral change.
